John Adams was born on October 30, 1735 in Massachusetts

He had 2 brothers named Peter and Elihu, however Elihu died during the American Revolution

John Adams became the 2nd president of America in 1797

He was 61 years old when he took oath, he served as president for 4 years until 1801

He is considered as one of the most important Founding Fathers of the United States, persistent in the battle for independence

John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were the only two founding Fathers that signed the Declaration of Independence and then went on to become President of America

He played a key role in major events particularly with French naval disputes, he succeeded in avoiding major conflict and kept America out of war with France

During 1785 to 1788 John Adams was the American minister to Great Britain. Foreign relations were extremely difficult to maintain at the time, but he was a skilled negotiator and served the position well
