Fun Fact 1

The name Georgia originated from the terms of an agreement granted by King George II of England in 1733. The terms of the agreement specified that the colony was named after the king

Fun Fact 2

The present flag of Georgia was adopted on May 8, 2003. It can be described as; horizontally split into three wide stripes of equal thickness, two red with a white in the middle. On the upper left corner  on a square of blue containing a circle of 13 white stars, which represent Georgia as one of the original Thirteen Colonies, within the circle the state coat of arms is depicted; the arch represents the state's Constitution and the pillars signify the three branches of government, the words of the state motto, "Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation," are displayed on the pillars, protected by a revolutionary soldier. The words "In God We Trust" relate to the official motto of the United States
