| Fun Fact 3 | His name was chosen after his mother's brother, who's name was Harrison "Harry" Young. The "S" did not stand for any name but was a compromise between the names of his grandfathers, Anderson Shipp Truman and Solomon Young |
| Fun Fact 4 | He studied at the University of Kansas City Law School, and had anticipated attending West Point Military Academy, but because of his poor eyesight he was not permitted. Harry Truman was a talented piano player and a one time thought about a career in music but he decided on politics instead |

He loved to wear brightly colored shirts and bow-ties and once once voted one of the top ten best dressed congress men, for this reason he was given the nickname "Haberdasher Harry". One of his most famous quote was "The buck stops here", and for this and his no-nonsense attitude he was given the nickname "Give ’Em Hell Harry" |
